ICT: OTE (Optimal Trade Entry)

The price band considered "optimal" for entering during a retracement.

OTE (Optimal Trade Entry) is the retracement band, based on Fibonacci levels in which, according to the ICT method, the risk/reward of an entry is best.

What it is for

After a directional impulse, it helps you identify where to wait for price to come back before considering an entry, instead of chasing the move.

How to read it

  • A band highlights the retracement zone (typically between 62% and 79% of the move).
  • Inside it, a line marks the sweet spot (around 70.5%), the “ideal” point of the band.

Parameters

  • Band, the edges of the OTE band (retracement percentages), editable.
  • Levels, show or hide the level lines.
  • Zone / sweet / leg colour, appearance only (the “leg” is the reference move the retracement is measured from).
